Road Tested: DLO TransDock Deluxe: "
A while back, DLO intro’d the TransDock Deluxe an extension of their wildly successful iPod auto dock line. I’ve used the Transdock Deluxe and have done my best to spill drinks on it, rough it up a bit and have a progress report.
TransDock Deluxe $129
Pros: Simple. Nice remote. USB port for charging your cell phone.
Cons: Velcro holder for remote is annoying. I’d still love a stronger, industrial strength FM transmitter.Overall : 9/10 Road warriors rejoice! An intelligent system is finally available without many sacrifices.
The remote is very interesting. At first, because my sedan is rather compact I thought this item would be completely superfluous. I can reach everything in the cockpit with ease including the Transdock base. Changing songs and such is very simple, plus I’ve got some audio controls on the steering wheel.
I was wrong. Having control on the steering wheel made a big difference in ease of use. Sure the velcro holder got in my way (I don’t see another way to do it) but the remote made the experience better, especially on long trips. It was a very nice feature to add. The remote is a huge plus in vehicles like my Element where the iPod is out of comfortable reach to the driver.
The FM transmitter worked very well compared to the Belkin I’ve used in the past. It still requires changing the stations when entering new cities but that is to be expected. I’d still love a stronger one that takes over the station permanently. I promise not to use that power for bad.
What I loved about this unit is the addition of a USB port on the unit. Yes, it is under the unit, so if you have it set up for low-profile, you’ll need a work around, mine was to jack the base up with the included extensions. I was able to recharge my phone as well as listen to the iPod at the same time. Nice and hassle free. I’d like it better with side access, but to have it there all is a bonus.
I didn’t get to use the video out or audio in ports on the unit, but it is great to know that they are there.

Belkin's New iPod Cases Support Breast Cancer: "
Today, Belkin announced its latest cases for the iPod nano and shuffle, in which 10-percent of sales will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Sport Armband for iPod nano ($24.99) is water-resistant and made with a 'stitchless' construction. The Remix Acrylic for iPod nano ($24.99) is a clear acrylic case with a soft backing that also protects the click wheel. The Statements (Charm/Folio Case) for iPod nano ($24.99) feature a ribbon pattern leather material with a wristlet for portability and get this ladies--an interior mirror that doubles as a picture frame! Finally, the Sport Armband for iPod shuffle ($19.99) may look weird at first since the shuffle is so small, but it's a different way to carry the shuffle instead of clipping it to your shirt or purse. It's also water-resistant and sports reflectors for nighttime use.
Each case comes in pink and 'bone' colors and will be available in Mid-September 2007.

Baby Dock: New Bose SoundDock Portable Arrives at Our Door: "
Those sneaky folks at Bose just launched one of their 'Press Conference in a Box' initiatives, this time unveiling the new Bose SoundDock portable: It's a bit smaller than the original, with a new remote, retractable dock, lithium-ion battery and, yes, auxiliary input.
You get three hours of battery life at full volume, though it can run for 'much longer' if you keep it lower. The battery will charge your iPod even when the dock is not plugged into the wall.
I don't have the other SoundDock at the moment to shoot side by side, but the new one is 6.75 inches high, and just over 12 inches wide. When the dock is swiveled shut, as you can see in the gallery, the depth of the unit is just over 4 inches. It's not super light: according to my precision instruments it weighs just under 5 lbs.
Bose says the SoundDock Portable will be out at the end of September in high-gloss white or black, and will cost a whopping $399. Man, that lithium ion just doesn't go down in price, does it? The original SoundDock will keep on sellin', still at $299.

Griffin Amplifi: Simple Stunner: "
Griffin is roaring loud this time with their latest Amplifi speaker system. It comes with an IR remote for easier use and also makes using your iPod more mobile. The remote handles play/pause, track skip, volume, and power. It has stats of 13.75’ x 8.75’ x 5.5’ and can make your window sills vibrate with its brilliant output. An AC adapter accompanies the set. The Amplifi is blessed with a universal iPod dock and some cool rubber fittings to keep your iPod securely mounted on it. Other features include an 8 inch line-in jack, an included audio cable and a single knob control for on/off as well as volume control."

Chestnut Hill George price dropped: "
Looks like those who have been eyeing the Chestnut Hill George for some time now will be able to pick it up for $500 after a 10% price reduction. Not only that, Chestnut Hill has included an outboard remote charging stand at no additional cost as long as you purchase it before the year is over. Should you get one today (or within the next month), take note that side panels and speaker grilles will be released this October, coming in different colors to suit your abode's color scheme. They'll set you back by another Benjamin though, but nobody ever said fashion and good taste were cheap. New owners will also benefit from the latest firmware that adds a bunch of tweaks and improvements for their benefit.

iSpin - The Sound Effect Mixer For Apple iPod: "
iSpin from Sergio USA is a dual iPod-docking mixer with an included headset and the ability to modestly process two iPods’ music prior to outputting it to speakers. This iPod dock is probably more suited to a house party than a club. The iSpin won’t suit everyone because you can’t beat-match with it. The device provides a range of effects including reverb, flange, hi/low pass filter and scratching sounds. Available in silver on white or red on black, the iSpin retails for $140.

src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
A review of the iLuv i199 Stereo System for your iPod has been posted over at PC Mag.
'The iLuv i199 has a striking, polished black contour, but it is probably too bulky to win any design awards. At roughly 15 by 7.8 by 5 inches and with a substantial weight, you'll need a sturdy bookshelf or a lot of space on your desktop for this one. iLuv also covers the i199 in stickers that are hard to peel off. I sincerely hope that my review unit is an anomaly. If not, be prepared for 'sticker shock'—and to use Goo Gone to get rid of it all. The front face of the i199 has a 5- by 1-inch LCD display with a CD slot below it. This LCD displays the time and date, as well as whatever information it can about the music or radio station you're listening to.'

Bexy Unwires iPod Dock Control: "
A newcomer to the market for home entertainment products launched a unique iPod dock as one of its initial offerings on Wednesday. Bexy’s iMirror Wireless Remote Control Docking Station allows users to dock their iPod with a home stereo system, then control it from afar with a remote that actually displays the iPod’s content data onscreen.
The iMirror works by loading all of the iPod’s title information into the remote as soon as it has been docked. After syncing, users can browse the contents of their iPods on the remote’s

Why have a gathering when you can have a HouseParty Blu?: "
Now I'm a big fan of my iPod, but a constant gripe is that I can't ever find a good enough speaker for it. It's well and good to use headphones when travelling about but at home I'd like something a little more vocal, and all the speakers about seem to sound rather tinny and not have a huge amount of bass. The HouseParty Blu combats this by including 2 x 30W speaker units inside a sleek small box, that can act as a charging dock for your iPod, or alternatively stream music from any Bluetooth enabled device. Music on your mobile is suddenly free, and the built in Bluetooth stereo transfer facility is very handy if a friend wants to play you their latest song of the moment; with no fiddly wires to worry about.

Stairway to Heaven - Zeppelin iPod Speaker System: "
The legendary English company, Bowers & Wilkins, known for its high-performance loudspeakers, designed this speaker system with the iPod in mind.
Using the B&W 800 series as a jumping off point, the Zeppelin incorporates the midrange and tweeter drivers in a curved profile that produces smooth response and evenly distributed sound. Bass comes from a 5-inch subwoofer located in the center and twin rear-firing ports.
The Zeppelin includes a 'pebble-like mini remote' handset for volume, source select and mute control that works with iPods’ play/pause and track-selection functions.
With Zeppelin, B&W offers high-end sonic experience , and at $599, the early adopters will be the die-hard audiophiles, who will pony up the cash for this beautifully designed system.
In an ironic twist, this stereo system for your iPod is dubbed 'Zeppelin,' and though it will be selling at Apple stores this fall, you still can't download any Zep tunes from iTunes. Doesn't seem fair, does it?
iLuv i1055 Plays DVDs & Works with iPod: "
CNN has a review from CNET of the iLuv i1055 which is obviously intended to work with the iPod. The device is a portable DVD player with a 7’ widescreen display. On the rear of the device is a dock for your Video iPod and when plugged in your videos playback on the larger 7’ screen.
The device is made by a company called JWin and it can be had online at about $180. The device measures in at 6’ x 10.25’ x 2.75’ and weighs 3 pounds with your 80Gb video iPod attached.
You can prop the device up on an included stand like you would a picture frame or you can secure it to a car headrest with included Velcro straps. Overall, CNET scored the device 6.7 out of 10, earning it a good ranking.

iPod Shuffle made of Gold and Diamonds: "
I just cannot figure out that why would someone want to spend thousands on a doodad worth about $100? And all that only for a glitzy-ritzy look! I feel it’s justified if all that money goes in for more high-tech features. But that’s what I feel……what about those who care a hoot about anything over looks? This one is for them - gold iPod Shuffle studded with diamonds. Folks at Engadget have managed to translate this bit of information and say that it’s made of pure gold and highlighted diamonds. Just last month I mentioned about a Gold shuffle from Germany and also that a diamond version may soon be available. Now I’m not to sure if it’s the same company that has unveiled this one too. But watch out for this space for more specific updates. Last time I did mention that ‘I hope that you get bejeweled ear phones too.’ I think they have paid heed to my expectation and offered diamond studded ear-phones too!"

Juke Tower Waterproof Bathroom MP3 Speaker: "
The Juke Tower Waterproof Bathroom MP3 Speaker is certainly compact (and why they felt the need to include 'bathroom' in the title is beyond me - 'waterproof' is a hint that I can use this in the shower). You must insert a USB flash drive containing the music you want to groove on, but it does come with volume and track skip controls and a digital display that shines through from behind the unit's outer casing. ¥10,500 (approx. £44.)

These pillows have integrated speakers, so you can connect up an iPod and annoy everyone on the flight with your music, not just the people sitting either side of you. Unfortunately, the graphics that look like they might be covering control buttons, aren't—you have to change tracks and adjust volume on the iPod itself. If Hammacher add some buttons, and a little pocket for your iPod, then the 2nd gen pillow could really be something cool. They retail for $59.95 and should be available in October.

A company called Boynq (not to be confused with Benq) is releasing some interesting-looking iPod docks. If unfamiliar, an iPod dock is a stationary speaker that you can place your iPod in to allow it to play music in a room without headphones. Apparently they're all the rage. Anyways, the first, seen above, is the Sabre Pour Homme. It looks like a ladies purse or something, which, while not up my alley, is sure to please some of your little sisters. The next is a bit more masculine: the iCube II, pictured after the jump.
The Sabre goes for $100 with the iCube II going for $70. [Gadgetress]

If you're in the mood for combining the currently-in-favor iPod with the darling of the '80s, the boombox, check out this currently unannounced DBA iPod speaker dock. It's styled after the ghetto blasters of yore, but has a room for your iPod. Not many other details other than the tape player-esque buttons on the front and other details that you see.
