iPod Headphones Hold Your Nano

iPod Headphones Hold Your Nano

iphonesucker

Sometimes it seems like there are far more accessories for the iPod Nano than any of the other versions of the iPod.  Whether or not that’s actually the case is debatable, but here’s one more to add to the list.  I’m not exactly saying this addition is a good thing, but it does give you more options when you’re trying to find that perfect Nano accessory.  With this you’ll have headphones and a way to hold your Nano in place all in one gadget.

The headphones have a small pocket that will hold your Nano directly on your head.  It’s designed for 2nd and 3rd generations.  The Nano plugs in wirelessly, but any other MP3 players will have to use a connecting cord that is included upon purchasing.  The lightweight headphones might be a bit too bulky for some.  However, if you like the size of them you can pick yourself up a set for $17.99 through the Skymall.

Luna 5 Encore from Edifier is a beast of an iPod dock, big is betterluna5-1.jpg There are iPod docks and then there’s the Luna 5 Encore from Edifier. This ‘all in one’ dock designed for iPods, iPhones and other MP3 players is equipped with a 5 driver speaker system that includes a 32-watt sub and 4 others powered by 20 watts that use unique vibration and resonance control technologies to give users a better audio experience. It doesn’t end there, the company has also thrown in frequency porting and mid-range tuned cavities for smoother cleaner audio making it one of the bigger and possibly better docks in the Apple-centric accessory environment. The rather large and powerful looking dock comes with a digital FM radio and was showcased at this years CES. From it’s press images it makes quite the impression on the ears and the eyes, even if it does look a little bit like the large aliens head from the Mission to Mars movie that was out in 2000. It’s available in a black and white model and priced at $299 which is a bit steep but seems worth it if you’re into the whole dock bit. luna5-2.jpg luna5-3.jpg luna5-4.jpg [Dvice]

Audiovox Zentral Turns Your iPhone or BlackBerry Into a Remote (or Garage Door Opener)

Audiovox Zentral Turns Your iPhone or BlackBerry Into a Remote (or Garage Door Opener)

We've seen IR solutions for the iPhone before, but this is the first we've seen for BlackBerry—and the first that also works as a garage door opener.

Unlike the Remote or L5 Remote, Audiovox's Zentral solution doesn't need a dongle—it communicates with a base station via Bluetooth, and that base station in turn talks to your TV (or stereo, iPod, garage door, whatever). There are three products in the line: The AV Remote for iPhone and BlackBerry, which works with up to 16 different devices ($60 for BlackBerry, $80 for iPhone); the Smartphone Jukebox, which lets a BlackBerry control an iPod ($70); and the Smartphone Garage Remote for BlackBerry ($50). They'll all be available sometime this spring.

Bandshell case for the iPhone 3G and 3GS

Bandshell case for the iPhone 3G and 3GS

Bandshell case for the iPhone 3G and 3GS

[CES 2010] Bandshell jumps into the lucrative iPhone 3G and 3GS case market with its latest fashionable case that will transform whenever the patent-pending sound door glides from the back. The use of its curves supposedly enhances the acoustics of the iPhone’s internal speaker, similar to how a well-designed bandshell or concert hall helps magnify the sound of live music. The flat side of the Bandshell allows the iPHone to stand up by itself, providing easy access to viewing album covers, videos and apps. It goes without saying that you are not meant to use the Bandshell to replace dedicated external speakers, as it is more of a private affair for a personal listening experience. Guess folks who deal with conference calls or hands-free conversation will find the Bandshell more useful. Available in a dozen colors, you can pick it up at a special CES price of $19.99 per case till one day after Valentine's.

iVictrola iPhone and iPod Touch Amplifier

iVictrola iPhone and iPod Touch Amplifier

iVictriola-1

If you prefer new technology that looks much older than it actually is, then this device would be great to have lying around.  It looks like more of an antique than an even remotely new gadget.  Yet it will happily play your iPod all day long and without using a single battery.  Not only that, but you won’t be forced to plug this into the wall either.  Making this an extremely convenient gadget.

It seems almost impossible for there to be no batteries, nor the need for it to be plugged in.  Not to mention that this doesn’t use a solar panel or anything else along those lines.  Instead it uses an entirely acoustic amplification.  The horn is made from metal, which actually maximizes that amplification.  The base itself is hand-carved from walnut, that walnut is pulled from remnants of high-end furniture.  Unfortunately, this device is fairly expensive, it’ll cost you $400.

Altec Lansing announces three new products for CES

Altec Lansing announces three new products for CES

Altec Lansing announced three new products today - a docking station, a new set of computer speakers, and a set of headphones. While not exactly earth shattering, they do look to be some decent sounding products.

image002

First off, we’ve got yet another iPod dock. It’s small, compact, and folds down into the size of a book for easy transport. Available February 2010, MSRP is $79.95.

image005

Next, the Octane Plus speaker system. It’s a 2.1 set and the latest of Altec Lansing’s offering to computer users. Combining tuned, down-firing 3 inch mid-range and 1 inch micro-drivers with a powerful sub-woofer, the Octane Plus will be available this spring for an MSRP of $79.95

Finally, we have the MUZX DNA headphones. Coming in three different styles themselves, the MUZX line is designed for different users in different designs. The MUZX Mesh is specifically for heavy music listeners that need something for the long term wear. The MUZX XX combines soft colors and smooth lines for the ladies, and the MUZX XY are like wearing rocks in your ears in a manly fashion. Well, maybe not quite that brutal, but they are intended for the ‘more active users’ whatever that means. All of the MUZX line will sell for $19.99, and be available this March.
