Mix-a-lot: $50 off new TuneStudio for iPod
Whether you're a podcasting wonder-kid, professional musician, or member of a garage-band (with secret aspirations of fame and fortune), Belkin’s TuneStudio might be the single best investment you make as an audiophile.
Belkin's TuneStudio for iPod lets you create and record high-quality digital recordings directly to your iPod, with instant playback. The 4-channel mixer allows for the input of up to four different instruments or audio sources and records at 16-bit, 44kHz quality in uncompressed WAV format, which translates as ‘crystal clear!’
TuneStudio’s compact and durable design is perfect for portability. Podcasters, musicians (professional and garage band alike) can record shows and sessions directly to their iPods anywhere they go.
In spite of the 29 different dials, this basic design is also surprisingly user-friendly:
* LEDs indicate master audio level, power status, peak indications, and compressor
* Compression is controlled by a single knob. And, audio is streamed though the built-in USB interface to and from a PC or Mac
* TuneStudio functions as an external sound card, allowing input and output of audio to a PC from its connectors
TuneStudio is currently compatible with:
* iPod classic (6th generation--80 GB and 160 GB);
* iPod nano (3rd generation--4 GB and 8 GB; 2nd generation--2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB)
* iPod video (5th generation--30 GB, 60 GB, and 80 GB)
(Available March 1, 2008)

JVC boggles the mind with their dual iPod speaker dock, the NX-PN7Honestly, I love JVC, but this product makes me think they've gone a bit cuckoo in the conception department!
I can understand that the average household has more than one iPod now, with both parties wanting to charge their 'pods overnight and have equal play-time with the speakers. However, I just can't get to grips with the NX-PN7...

Mobile DJ boiled down to a pocket sized mixer
I don’t even really know if you can count this as a mixer since all it can do is control the volume of 2 sources and then output the audio from both sources to one output. But hey, if you’ve got a pair of devices with 3.5mm audio jacks and you want to give it a try, nothing is stopping you.
Two iPods is the most obvious solution, but I think there are others. I mean, when I was in high school, there were a few kids who had found a way to remove the lid from their CD player and still make it play and they’d ‘scratch’ them like a record and it would make similar noises, so a pair of those might make for a decent set for a DJ on the go.
I have no idea if the Micro Mixer DJ-4 comes with the audio cables or not, but all it does is connect two devices via headphone jack and provide a couple audio knobs and a single output to connect to a stereo or speakers. You can get one for about $135.

iMep3 is everything all wrapped up into one
I picture the makers of the iMep3 singing some warped version of the hokey pokey where you put the TV in and don’t leave the DVD player out, consolidation is what it’s all about. Maybe I have too much time on my hands. In any case the iMep3 is your basic all in one.
It’s an iPod, DVD player, TV and Boombox. It has a 7’ LCD display and comes with memory and USB ports, it has a built in radio too but I can’t imagine it’ll get much use with all the other gadgets it possesses.
You can buy yourself an iMep3 for $300 when it comes back in stock. I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be cheaper just to buy everything separate.

Speaker Kit Uses iPod Box As An Enclosure
Why make something homemade when you can buy something that looks homemade? The Bird-Electron EZ17-B iPod Recycling Speaker, to give it its full kennel-name, is a kind of homemade hybrid. The $40 panel contains two speakers and fits exactly into the top of the plastic box which once contained your iPod (1G and 2G Nano, 2G and 3G Shuffle).
The passive speakers are driven by the power from the headphone jack, so don't expect to rock a party. We like the re-use aspect, but $40 is steep for what is essentially a couple of cheap drivers in a plastic sheet – something you could easily knock together yourself. Still, it's an aesthetic step up from the traditional hacker's enclosure, the Altoids tin.

Case-Mate Leather Cases for your iPod Shuffle
I remember a day when just having an iPod was a statement, but now it’s more about your iPod accessories, or at least it seems that way. In any case, Case-Mate has a new line of leather cases for your iPod Shuffle to give it and you that extra bit of flair.
The cases, which come in red, black, blue, pink, orange and white, are made from ‘the most luxurious pebble stone Italian leather’. It has a little keychain attachment as well so you can hang your Shuffle where ever you please. It will also, of course, give you that extra bit of protection incase you’re into accident prone.
One of these cases will cost you about $16. I have to say, though, if you do decide to buy one and you opt for the white, you’re a fool.

Bird Electron Speaker Stand for iPod Touch
The iPod Touch was briefly known as the Phone-less iPhone, but it lacks a couple of other features found on its big brother. A camera, for one, and a speaker. The iPod Touch Speaker Stand from Bird-Electron takes care of the latter (for the phone part, try the Touch-4-VoIP). The curiously lectern-like design supports the Touch for video viewing, and the passive speaker runs from the headphone jack.
The base of the stand looks a little narrow, but the heavy gauge steel construction should stop any toppling: it weighs in at a hefty 275g (almost 10oz). It'll cost a lot more than the little plastic widget that ships with the iPod, though: $80. At that price, we'd hope for an active, AA powered speaker at least.

Make your own cutecutecute star-shaped iPod Nano case
It's January, which in my books equals being complete broke, and trying to find something to do to replace trips to the pub during January detox. So, I'm quite taken with the idea of a project, and luckily Crafty Crafty have something that satisfies my geek and my temporary spendthrift tendencies in this Star Nano case. '

Sababa Toys shows the iNoIn the Moscone West 'first look' section we found Sababa Toys demonstrating their iPod music-trivia game called 'iNo.' Unfortunate naming scheme aside, it looks pretty fun. You push your iPod into the device, it plays a random song while hiding the screen. If you think you know the song (or artist, etc.-- there are cards you draw), you press a little handheld button, which stops the song so you can answer. The iNo is also a speaker/iPod charger, although it uses six AA batteries, so maybe not the most economical charger in the world. Still, if you are tired of playing the built-in iPod music game and have some time to kill with musically-inclined friends this is a unique effort from one of the pluckier vendors we found at Macworld.
To see the thing in action watch the video after the break.

Logic3, famous for its award winning iStation Traveller iPod speakers has upped the ante with its latest offering; the Logic3 JiveBox. But can these speakers deliver what they promise? We get listening to find out.
The JiveBox is as the name suggests a single box that guarantees to get you 'jiving'. To do this its core element is a series of large speakers, an even larger subwoofer and the option of a blue, green or red glowing light to get you into the mood.
Simple in its design the cube speaker promises a ClassHD amplifier that provides an output of 90 watts RMS, a 5.25 inch (135mm) Hi-X subwoofer, and 2 x 3inch (75mm) midrange drivers and 2 x 1inch (25 mm) tweeters, all of which are slightly more than your average iPod speaker.
Everything is managed by a Digital Signal Processor (DSP).

Greenhouse FM Transmitter Brings Music Streaming to Your Obese iPod nano [Accessories]
The fat, fun-loving iPod nano just got music streaming capabilities, all thanks to the Greenhouse FM transmitter. The streaming device looks rather swank, and is available in five complementing colors, including metallic black, silver, red, green and blue. It will allow you to chuck out your tunes to any free radio station, by tuning the transmitter into the free station using the plus and minus buttons either side of the display.
Unfortunately, we don't think the green and blue versions match entirely, but with an LCD screen for FM station display and great styling to accompany your iPod nano, you cannot go far wrong. Pricing and shipping details are not available at present, but we shouldn't imagine you will be waiting too long.
