Tekkeon’s NavDock for iPod

Mentioned as one of the coolest iPod accessories, the Tekkeon’s NavDock allows users to navigate their iPod thorugh TV screen with responsive control and enjoying their iPod’s contents including photos, music, and videos on connected TV. The NavDock’s interface is similar to iPod’s interface and it’s easy to use. And NavDock comes with five-way navigation pad and 16-button remote to control volume and other settings including shuffle, repeat or skip songs, and fast forward or rewind through music or videos. What NavDock displays on screen are the song number (within the current sequence of songs), song title, artist name, album title, elapsed time and remaining time. And interestingly, it also allows users to display lyrics or album art on screen.

Weighing at 195 g, the NavDock for iPod sports Stereo audio output, Composite and S-video output, Docking connector for iPod, and supports NTSC/PAL TV formats. Regarding compatibility, the NavDock works well with iPod classic, iPod nano (3rd generation), and iPod video. Other models including iPod with color display, iPod 4G, iPod nano (1st and 2nd generation), and iPod mini also compatible with NavDock but without on-TV navigation feature.

You may ask whether the NavDock are compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. As mentioned on company’s website, the iPhone and iPod touch are not fully compatible with NavDock, users still able to use it but the following features will not supported including Album art and On-TV navigation of videos and photo.

What I like most is its portability that allows users to watch their favorite videos or TV shows wherever and whenever they want such in hotel room without the need additional CD/DVD player.

The NavDock bundled with 16-button infrared remote control with one-touch mode selectors; 6 feet of Standard AV output cable for TV connection; Universal dock adapters (3); Power adapter, 100-240 VAC; and User guide.
