Bird Electron Speaker Stand for iPod Touch

Bird Electron Speaker Stand for iPod Touch

The iPod Touch was briefly known as the Phone-less iPhone, but it lacks a couple of other features found on its big brother. A camera, for one, and a speaker. The iPod Touch Speaker Stand from Bird-Electron takes care of the latter (for the phone part, try the Touch-4-VoIP). The curiously lectern-like design supports the Touch for video viewing, and the passive speaker runs from the headphone jack.

The base of the stand looks a little narrow, but the heavy gauge steel construction should stop any toppling: it weighs in at a hefty 275g (almost 10oz). It'll cost a lot more than the little plastic widget that ships with the iPod, though: $80. At that price, we'd hope for an active, AA powered speaker at least.
